How to Teach Your Dog to Sit | Dog Training

As we all know, dog treats are critical to a successful dog Training. as a beginner level trainer and one of the first lessons for your Dog, teaching him to sit is a great beginner level task.

Teaching your dog to sit is one of the most comfortable dog obedience commands to teach, so it’s a good one to start with.

01. Hold a treat close to your dog’s nose.
02. Move your hand up, allowing his head to follow the treat and causing his bottom to lower.
03. Once he’s in sitting position, say “Sit,” give him the treat, and share affection.

Repeat this sequence a few times every day until your dog has it mastered. Then ask your dog to sit before mealtime, when leaving for walks, and during other situations where you’d like him calm and seated.
